Ladies and Gents,My Original 60Gb failed after 9 months and was replaced under warranty - the Bluray drive stopped reading Bluray discs (games, movies).Well, on Saturday the Bluray Drive failed again on the replacement (GRRRRR!) after a 15 months of very careful usage and Sony have agreed to replace for free for the 2nd time. They tried hitting me with the £128 for a replacement jive cos 3 months warranty was up on the replacement. I told them that wasn't acceptable. They told me to think about whether I wanted to pay the charge and the call ended. So I did then called back 5min later (ding!, ding!, round 2)- thinking that a machine that cos £350 when I bought it should be more durable. So two phonecalls in and still no joy after 30min wasted; they were just not budging. They even agreed that they would expect the system to last longer than a year and that they'd feel annoyed in my position however that was just the way it is (the cheek!). Finally I lost patience and said I wanted to speak to their complaints dept. - They then said that they don't have one but they would get a supervisor to call me back, but as it was the weekend that would be Monday.Supervisor called Sunday and after a brief description of what was wrong (2min) they agreed to send me another one for nowt(arrives Tues). She honestly couldn't have been nicer. The point is stand your ground with the care team and escalate, escalate, escalate. I work in customer service and could teach Sony a thing or two.Happy with the end result but the fight to get there took the proverbial!
