Default Spa cancelled booking - please advise?

I had a recent booking at a Spa that they canceled, without informing me!

We arrived on the day, and was informed that the Spa was shut*

As the booking was confirmed in writing, surely I have some rights to compensation? Travel costs at least?

So far they've offered me a complimentary pass - but to use it, I'd still have to pay for treatments, travel & food.

*the spa was shut due to fire damage - however the fire had occurred 6 weeks before and I was informed the works were going to be completed by this date.

Can anyone advise me of my rights? I've got nowhere so far, I've already complained in writing.
