Worldwide, it is doubtful that postal services can continue in their present form.
The obligation to deliver to any address in the country at a fixed fee, irrespective of the cost, means losses in most cases. Competitors do not have have those commitments and can pick and chose where they take their profits. Markets are changing, email is being used by more consumers.
Postal services that do not adapt will not survive, because they will not be profitable, which competitors will be - because they can select what they accept to do.
