Bank of England keeps interest rates on hold

Rates maintained at 5%. Not much of a surprise, though there's speculation about a cut later in the year.

No surprises there. Unlike the US equivalent their remit is to control inflation only and not promote economic growth. This is a shame as we would probably see rates going down if they had the same dual responsibilty.
