Default Blue Swan insurance company

Interesting story on the BBC Watchdog website about Blue Swan travel insurance. It seems the company went bust, and because it was based in Jersey, customers were not protected by the Financial Services Authority. So, many people had to pay for their own treatment for injuries sustained on holiday. And recently, some customers have begun receiving demands for money from Blue Swan Travel company, telling them that debt collectors will be called in if they don't pay.

Watchdog investigated and found that the man behind both Blue Swan Insurance and Blue Swan Travel, Krzystof Nicpon, is essentially pursuing customers for money owed by one of his companies to the other. They sought legal advice and were told that customers should not pay the bills he is sending out.

So if you have received such a bill, don't pay it!

Default Nasty Piece of Work

I saw the programme the other night. Couldn't believe it at first. They contacted one guy after 2 years and demanded the money back from his claim. The letters they sent out had a phone number on, but nobody ever picked up, surprise surprise. A few people did pay out unfortunately, scared about the threat of bayliffs coming round. I really hope they stop him, he's a nasty piece of work.
