Default Storage companies

Has anyone ever used a storage company that they would particularly recommend? I'm likely to be moving in a few weeks and will need to put some of my stuff into storage. I've never done it before and am nervous about making a bad choice and ending up with all my stuff festering in a damp rat-infested garage. Recommendations would help to put my mind at ease!

We use 'The Big Storage' and they have been really accommodating and helpful and their storage is really clean, don't know how 'national' they are.

You need to check the full costs before you commit tho' our original quote was around £40 per week (its quite big!) but once we'd added insurance, VAT etc, it's costing us £236.20 per month.

I have no direct experience of them, but many seem to be self-access in modern buildings. I guess you pay more for this though. Not much help I know
