Default Gas and electricity prices

I think all gas and electricity providers have now increased their prices (even though I read today that they have also been giving their shareholders increasingly large payouts, which somewhat negates their argument that prices had to rise to cover costs).

Anyway, I just wondered if anyone was aware of any good deals with a gas/electricity supplier, or had any tips for saving money on bills? Obviously we should all be using uSwitch.com: Search, switch & save on all your home services and financial products or similar sites to check whether we could be saving money, but any other top tips?

Thanks GG, that reminds me. I should review my utility bills and providers. Given all the recent changes this is something we should all be doing. Remember you can often do this through sites such as quidco and get it cheaper.
