Default Are approvals going up?

I think I heard that on the radio this morning. That and the fact that house prices have risen by 6%. I think that's what they said. That's good. I'm bored of this recession can it please be over soon? ... only it's not going to be is it?

I work in the mortgage industry and still hard work getting them through. There is now too many willing lenders and all require a large deposit. Its going to take time before things really improve on the lending front.

What is the normal amount required now for a deposit then? Is it something ridiculous?
