Markings for temp etc on Bosch oven have wiped off

Hi there

I hope this is the right forum.

We have an 18 month old Bosch oven and about 6 months ago we noticed that the temperature numbers and other markings on the front were disappearing. They've now almost gone. I rang Bosch and they say it's not covered by the warranty, as we may well have cuased the problem by our cleaning methods. I can understand their attitude - there probably are people who scrub with a brillo pad. But we didn't - you can push the remaining bits of black stuff around with your thumb. These marking seem so delicate that they shouldn't be on the front of an oven, and right now we can't set the oven temp accurately.

I've got two questions. Is this a common problem with Bosch ovens? - they say not. Is there a kit or something else I can buy to put back the temp numbers etc, without buying a new front plate for £30 odd.

I've been in this situation myself, and it is classed as simply wear and tear, as it's not a part essential to the function, it's just a guidance. You may be able to purchase replacement ones from Bosch, or if your not too fussy, do what I did, scratch some small increment lines so you have a rough guide...
If you're a tad classier than me though, buy a replacement knob, or if this is not possible, go to a craft shop where you can buy card making number stickers?
