Default pushy salesman

recently went to a dealer to buy a new van. liked a vehicle & put down a deposit of 500. after checking insurance quotes on line that evening i rang the dealer the next morning to cancel the contract of sale. after explaining my position. i was told the contract was legally binding and that i had to buy the vehicle. is this correct?

Hi Richard. That doesn't sound right. Definitely seek some legal advice and hang in there. You should be able to get that 500 back.
