Do Micro$oft have a whole department of people looking for things that aren't patented?

Do those big pieces of glass in frames at the front of my house have a patent? Perhaps we'd better start bricking them up again, I feel a WINDOWS tax coming on!!!!!

They do and they are not alone I think a lot of big companies do this esp. the IT ones. I suppose it also allows them to hide the real ideas that they are going to develop within the noise.
