LOL!
Ask Banksy if we are selling them the discs or providing them with a service please
I believe we are providing a service to this user instead of supplying pirated material.

Also ask him/her if we have ever;
a) abused his details
b) given out his details to any other service or business

Think I might have proved my point myself :

Exactamundo
We provide a service where normal users CANNOT make a backup themselves.

All above board, all perfectly legal and in line with the post I made a while back
Please see the LEGAL bit on XL for the rundown.

All in black and white in the CRA ... it is illegal for anyone to be stopped from making a legal backup OR if they cannot, from seeking help in doing so.

On that note I am going to close this thread as the argument is going round in circles. If there are any major updates on this subject please start a new thread.

After being shutdown by a couple of their hosts since October.

They were finally "closed" in early January.

How or who by I have absolutely no idea....

But selling illegal goods on an illegal site & boasting about it on forums & bragging about misguided technicalities is never a good idea, is it?

I guess they annoyed too many people with their behaviour & their card was marked in September.

But Adam in Sheffield may come back & fill us in...

Yep, annoyed too many people and thought because there was no immediate action from copyright holders they must have been scared to go after him. I personally sent details to many rights holders about him and they were slowly letting him tie his own noose. Let this be a lesson to any other know it all pirate traders that they can't get away with it by hiding behing stupid clauses on their T&C's page.

Good Afternoon good people

We can confirm reports that
* WE are STILL not in prison
* The site is STILL alive
* Still we have NOT been prosecuted

To clear up the accusations and the general malay, let us help you understand why we have been away for a few months.

The simple matter of 'FACT' (see what we did there!) is that
WE OWN THE HOSTING and we felt the need to re-evaluate the service and network on a whole, not to mention, we were bought out and the regime has changed now.

In January, we disabled the site.. not through pressure from anyone, but from our own choosing. The previous management were replaced and have gone on to other ventures and our new 3 co-owners are now looking at freshening up the whole service as a whole and to push forward, are aiming to become a LTD company shortly in order to proceed more on a duplication service level.

The reporting to authorities did just as we told you previously - NOTHING.
There is no factual and proven evidence to support wild theories and allegations hence, no prosecution will ever take place of XL and the site in general.

May we remind you all, that similar sites to ours exist, and still REMAIN on the net - and have been in some cases, on the net longer than ours have (and we now clock in at 3 1/2 years online) so you can imagine what some sites have been live for.

Google still allow us to advertise freely as there is no illegal activity whatsoever on our sites.

We wish you all good luck in the future and the best wishes

XL Trading kept having their hosting shut down because of their illegal activities. They lost several Paypal accounts and were struggling to find a way to obtain payment for their goods.

There are several posts on the internet from customers who have lost money, and consoles they sent in. Hardly surprising, you would have to be mad to send these guys anything of value. They are far from a legitimate company.

But now after several months, they're back. You have to smile.

Trading standards, FAST, Nominet and several software companies have been informed again.

Let's see how long they last this time.

Good Evening!

Point One - Hosting:
Nobody has even shut us down, we have merely disabled the site or had problems with hosting ie: email accounts not working as they should - hence the move to hosting OURSELVES which CANNOT be interfered with as we own the private server onto which XL operates.
This neither illegal or a sign we are 'dodgy' - many services operate their own servers from which to work from.

Point Two - Payment Processors:
PayPal, we have not used for a long, LONG time due to its excessive charges and the fact that PP decide to limit accounts with a lot of cash in them for no reason. They are unreliable for the amounts that XL has coming into them hence the reason we do not use PayPal primarily as we find Google Checkout has more to offer us - however, GC has recently stopped accepting Maestro cards hence the reason, we have stopped using GC recently.
We have other payment processors available at XL and various other means as well to receive payments from clients.

Point Three - People 'losing consoles' with XL:
Please point these out to us as we have searched and cannot find them.
We are not aware of any clients having 'lost' their consoles with XL so we merely brush this off as yet another attempt to slur our site and service when other attempts have been seen to have failed miserably.
What would you class as a legitimate company? Again, if we are speaking of LTD companies - we are not classed as one. This however, does not class us as 'dodgy' as other sites on the net do the exact same thing and you could say, they are not legally recognised also.

Point Four: They are back etc..
We never actually went away - we merely paused the site as we wanted to refresh, and re-energise the site and service as well as, we have a new management in place after we were sold to our new three co-owners.
As always, if the 'companies' wish to get in touch and discuss with us - they are more than welcome to.

After 3+ years ONLINE and even more OFFLINE, we are still alive, and doing what we do best - if we were doing anything illegal, we would have been closed by now. It's that simple.

And the fact remains, as we have pointed out - other sites do the same thing as us, have borrowed our watertight legal disclaimer, and have not been shut as well.. which tells you something major right there.
