Crikey, did you really earn £1000. That is good. I know we have had thesetdiscussions before on here but I just didn't believe that any of them would be any good. Hey Michael, nice to see you again by the way!

Is Mystery Shopping something businesses use regularly? What is the point in them hiring someone to do this? I've considered it, but wasn't sure if it would be worth my time or effort. Thanks for the information on this.

Hi all,
I work for a mystery shopping company that has been mentioned above. We are currently looking for shoppers with specialist experience in video shopping in the Lancashire and Cumbria areas. If you have experience and your own surveillance equipment (pen camera etc) and you would like to know more about the work available, please register at the International Service Check website

It is a very specialised field meaning the payment for this type of work is substantially higher.

Hi, does anybody know of any legitimate companies that allow you to just mystery shop online? Could do with some extra cash but work all day & the weekends are the only time I get to spend with my girlfriend. Any help gratefully accepted.

Just thought it would be worth updating this thread ... there are lots of Mystery Shopping Companies in the UK, most of these are part of bigger national or international organisations.

The companies that I do Mystery Shops for are as follows:

International Service Check
GfK Mystery Shopping
Grassroots
Market Force Europe
Tern Consultancy

I'm not saying these companies are better than others, but these are the ones I work for, and I've never had any problems with them.

The most important thing about Mystery Shopping is that it should done as if you are a normal customer, so try to fit it in when you are already going to be out shopping, or nipping into the pub for a bite to eat and a drink.

I'm considering doing some Airside shops at the airport when I go on Holiday later this year.

There are all sorts of opportunities available, just search for the companies sign up and enjoy your shopping.

Make sure you do not have to pay to join, if you get redirected to a payment page, leave the site and look for others.

Good luck.

I have done mystery shopping now for the past few years and I enjoy it a lot. The main benefits of mystery shopping are: Extra earnings: Jobs typically pay between £5 to £100 or sometimes more. This is obviously dependant on what the task is.

Hi All,

I have only just come across Mystery Shopping as a means of raising additional funds. Spotted an advert for a role with Consumer Focus Research Group [CFRG] on a legitimate job search email offering £50 per assignment with funds up front. Seemed to good to be true so set up a new account to receive funds they sent me a cheque for. Perhaps needless to say the cheque hasn't cleared. Has any one come across this Company?

All ready seeing some useful additional information on this thread, obviously should have come to this site first.

Regards

Tim

Hello Tim

That is one company I've not heard of, however, I would suggest that any company that wants you to pay to join is not worth the money they are taking from you, if they are not confident enough that they can make money and pay you ... STAY AWAY!

There are lots of companies out there, I'm currently registered with:

Market Force
GfK
Grassroots
International Service Check
Tern Consultancy
Retail Maxim
ASI Outsourcing

I would recommend that people stay away from People In Performance as they didn't pay me for a complicated mystery shop that I did for them.

Mystery Shopping is a good way to make extra money, but you certainly cannot live on the earnings.

I hope you have better results with other companies.

Regards

Michael

Michael,

Thank you for your response. I should have made clear they have not asked me for any money nor would I pay them anything. I thought it odd that they would give me funds via a cheque and the guy I am dealing with could simply be inefficient.

However I will look at the other company's you suggest. The idea is to hopefully pick up another job and use this to supplement income.

All the best.

Hello Tim

Good luck with these companies, I get paid by BACS from all of the companies except International Service Check who pay by PayPal, but they do it as wages rather than a sale, so PayPal don't take charges from the income.

It is good, I got paid £3.50 today for some postal audits ... they are the easiest ones to do.

Good luck

Regards

Michael

All,

Just for the record Consumer Focus Research Group [CFRG] is a Company to avoid. Definitely a scam.
