Lives in Chelmsford, retired, 72, French, female. Used to be a database developer contracting under my own limited company.
I have my personal website I used for marketing my skills but kept it and use it to show progresses of my home improvements, including good builders and bad builders encounters. Website: Patricia Marchand
I hired a Roofing and building company (A Trusted Trader) to do various jobs including 2 new bedroom windows. When the old windows were removed the bricks above came out. They didn't put lintels in or replace bricks - they just put a length of wood and some mortar and some insulation in the gap and covered it over with some upvc trimming!
I need advice in how to go on please. I'm a lone female being fobbed off!!

New houses in LUND near Diffield East Yorkshire
We have always wanted to live in the beautiful village of Lund, so we made a day of it and looked at three new houses being built by a local builder in the village; my wife brought a friend who knows the area well as he was a policeman in the east riding for many years. We looked at the houses and retired to the pub in the village for lunch, where we discussed the pros and cons of a possible purchase. We were overheard by a couple of ladies who knew the wife’s friend who advised against any purchase from that builder, they went on to explain the builder had changed his company name from REEF HOMES to WOODHOUSE (Lund) Ltd as there had been a lot of legal action regarding several homes and or buildings he and his previous company had been involved in.

Hi,
In response to your reporting of posts made on forum thread 'Fischer Future Heat - Is it a scam?' for the removal due to duplicate email addresses, I would advise you to log in to your other account(s) & visit the thread in question, where you will find a 'delete' option next to posts made by yourself.
Thanks, ALewis. Forum Mod
Yes, I've done the rounds. I like this forum though, it deserves to be more active. I saw your degree was in Trading Standards so you must have a lot of knowledge. It's difficult getting the breaks. I've been lucky in attracting interest from some high profile people in my fields, and I guess the fact I'm 'free' helps. It's my way of putting something back and I love doing it. I'll look forward to getting to know the characters here. I get very involved in other things at times, so never be afraid to drop me an email if there's anything you think I could help with and I've not been around for a little while. It doesn't mean I've vanished! lol
Oh right you've done a fair bit then, and no your input is greatly appreciated - I was just curious that's all.
You'll see 3 other main names around here, firstly: Tony - he founded the site and as you can tell, has put a lot of time and effort into the articles around here. WitchConsumer - has a background in consumer law advice on a voluntary basis whilst having her full time job. Trickjg - He knows his stuff when it comes to properties and building regulations (we normally call on him when there's that stuff around). And then there's little me, I hold a degree in Trading Standards but unfortunately due to government cut backs - simply can't get in until someone leaves/gets sacked/dies - so I do my bit here instead whilst being an assistant manager at a Carphone Warehouse branch :)
Glad to have you around!
Currently work has been very much on the bailiff front with the TCE Act and April 6th fast approaching, and the 'interesting' situation debtors and councils are going to find themselves in thereafter. Meanwhile I do all sorts of odds and ends around and about. This was as forum I had never heard of so I registered to have a look around.

I hope my input is helpful - feel free to tell me if it is not.

Best wishes,

LondonGirl
Hi,

It would take a long time to tell you exactly what I've done in the past, but I've done a fair bit ranging from setting up and running successful not-for-profit debt advice charities to working with some of the country's leading bailiff specialists to work to improve the enforcement industry as well as challenging some of the less scrupulous operators.

The charities have now been wound down as the opportunity came along to work informally (I never do paid work in this area as a matter of principle) on a recently released self-managed DMP. I realised I could help far more people this way than through my charities.

(more to come due to limit on length of message)
Hi, thanks for assisting on the forum! Just out of curiosity, what's your background with consumer law?
Hi Steven, as much as your presence is appreciated, please do not resurrect old threads - there simply is no need to. Thank you
Don't tell him about the recording at all because if you do file a claim in the scc he will have to enter a defence and I suspect he will lie, after this you have to submit your evidence at which point you can use the video to prove he is dishonest.
Of course we will remove your post if you wish but I think they are trying to put the wind up you, nothing they can do about that post if its accurate!
