Catalogue price increase overnight

Can anybody tell me if I have any chance with this. I saw a laptop on a catalogue which was priced at £199. I put this item into my basket but then didn't finish the purchase. The next day when I went back to the catalogue the item had been removed from my basket and the price had increased to £329. I have emailed the catalogue and have been told they cannot do anything. Do I have any rights with this or is it totally hopeless?

I'm afraid not, if you had completed the transaction you still wouldn't have been guaranteed the laptop at the price advertised if they could prove the price advertised was an error. What they can't do is sell you the item, deliver it then ask for more money or the item back because they made an error.
