Hi, I have had my diamond eternity ring for 5 years. This week I noticed that one of the stones has disappeared. It is from a high quality jewellers chain and cost £3k so I went in to ask about getting it repaired. They have sent it to their head office who say it is my fault as the fitting has some damage, and I have to pay a £500 fee if they are to repair it. I have worn the ring daily and never do anything that would be classed as heavy use in it. No known knocks or bangs. Soooo what are my rights? 
can I expect it to last for an eternity and hence that the jewellers foot the bill, or should I expect to pay for such repairs periodically?
