Tastecard - auto renewals

Hi,

Hopefully I am not the only one that have been struck by the automated membership renewals from 'Tastecard'.

I called them to cancel my membership on the day it was due to be renewed and they have refused to cancel as they claim this needs to be done prior to this date! Surely there has to be some loop hole in the law where people have the right to cancel such memberships where its automated and cancelling within the day as seen by them is not good enough!

Please help!

Hi MsThomas. I haven't had that experience with Taste card but I have had it with LoveFilm . I guess the problem is if they've already renewed it in their system they can't cancel it as the payment may already have gone through. I've just checked their FAQs and it does say that you should cancel 7 days prior to your renewal date, so you might be out of luck I'm afraid. Automated renewal is a little annoying though, I agree!
