The company targets unsuspecting businesses.
They telephone you asking if you would like to change your key words.
You have no knowledge of any key words (they don’t in fact exist).
They explain you have an account with them and that they have just taken the payment for next year and as a courtesy call are checking the key words.
You are keen not to continue and the adviser offers to put you through to the cancellation department. You agree.
The advisor tells you he needs your credit card number and expiry date to cancel the service but not the security code as he doesn’t have access to your details.
Thinking it’s safe you give them the number and date.
They tell you that it’s cancelled and send you a cancellation email and an invoice.
What they don’t tell you is that they have now just taken £239.99 off your card.
There is no answer from the telephone number.
The invoice will have the name of National Business Pages.co.uk at the top with the address of 27 Old Gloucester Road, London, WC1N 3AX.
It is not a registered business name and there is no vat number on the invoice although vat is charged.
Neither Online Business Pages.co.uk nor National Business Pages.co.uk are registered companies and neither are on the Experian business check site.
The Online Business Pages website is owned and run by BHB Marketing Ltd which is a valid company.
Tel: 0125429606. BHB Marketing, Unit 17, Kings Court, 33 King Street, Blackburn, Lancashire, BB2 2DH.
I would be very interested to hear if anyone else had had the same problem.
