Tesco Headphones

I bought a set of turtle beach headphones from tesco a couple of weeks ago I gave them to my grandsone yesterday and the right channel is not working.I returned them to tesco today and because I cant find the recipt they refuse to replace them or get a credit note .They say because it is over 10 days since I boght them there is nothing they can do I said I could get a copy of my bank statement but they still refuse I also used my points card but they as good as saying tough luck.I am on income support and losing £17 plus fuel costs of a 35 mile return trip at this time of year is hard.Is there anything I can do to get them replaced If I send them back to turtle beach will they replace them
