My builder is trying to charge me for lanfill tax I do not belive he is liable for or is not going to pay to HMRC-he's now sent me a letter saying as from Friday this amount is overdue so as per our contract he can now charge me 5% per month interest.He's also starting legal proceedings.
I'm trying to argue the amount (£987) is now in dispute and therefore not overdue so no interest should accumulate?
Will i get away with this argument and what else can I do??
