Have My parents Been ripped off, please help

Hello

Im really anxious to see if my parents have possibly been ripped off.
they have had some work done on the outside grounds of there house.
they have had done:-

1) front path dug up and replaced.
2) path under front window ( as above)
3) side of house path dug up and replaced
4) rear of house area dug up and paved.
5) side steps dug up and replaced.
6) driveway dug up and replaced.
7) drive posts replaced and small wall built.

they have paid some of the money up front, most has to be paid on completion.
they called me wondering if they have been really ripped off, i have no idea.
ive got time to look into it before they have to pay.

any ideas please.






is £10,000 + too much for all this.

any advice appreciated

For the amount of work your parents are having carried out, and that most of the money is paid on completion. The contractor should be using the best materials, and best practice for wall depth footing,
and correct depth for path substrate, choice of brick colour for the wall should be your parents choice.
The price quoted is not the cheapest, but providing the above suggestions are adhered to then it is not an unreasonable quote. Always get 3 or more quotes with past customers' given as references so their work can be verified. Before offering any builder/contractor the work, and only pay in stages as the agreed work progresses(agreed in advance of starting the build)..
