Dragging my attention away from the US for a brief moment, I noticed that Consumer Focus has said that the government should extend winter fuel payments to more people, in order to mitigate the effect of rising energy costs.
Winter fuel payments are available to over-60s and Consumer Focus says they should also be available to those on lower incomes who are eligible for cold weather payments.
