Faulty LG Plasma from Currys want to know where i stand help!

Hi there needing some advice to where i stand with repairs/replacement of a faulty plasma LG tv purchased from currys. the tv was purchased on sept 2009 and has today developed a fault which means the tv screen remains blank although the power light is on? for the age of the tv i feel this unacceptable and looking for advice on where i stand before approaching currys.. Thanks

It all depends on how long something like this is meant to last. Price is one factor maybe. What you need to do is some homeork on the avergae life expectency of a plasma tv and approach Currys with your evidence.

Because of the age it is up to you, under the Sales of Goods ACt 1979, to prove it was faulty when you bought it. In this repsect you would have to obtain an expert report on the fault to back up your case if they did not agree to repair it. They are only obliged to repair it at this stage.
