we bought a ford mondeo of motorcity of walsall wood last December, we are not mechincally minded, there was a slight noise coming from the engine but nothing to worry about. Two weeks after having it my husband slipped on the ice and bented the bumper. The insurance had it mended at a ford garage, we then sent it back because we kept hearing a noise coming from the engine. Ford said there was nothing wrong with it so we just carried on driving it. A month ago we had it serviced and they said the crankshaft was going and said not to use it that it needed a new engine, we have been quoted £1000 the car cost £2795 for a 03 plate. We had the car on finance but they dont want to know as it is up to us to prove it was there a point of sale. We have been told they can put thicker oil in to muffle the noise is this true, and what are or legal rights, would it be cheaper to let them repossess as we cannot use the car and we are having to hire a car to get to work. Can anyone help
