Hi
Yesterday I returned a faulty television that was still under warranty from Tesco, they quite happily offered to take back the TV however they said that since the price of the TV had gone up since I bought it, they would only refund the money paid and I would have to pay the difference if I wanted to buy the TV again? Is this correct? I would have thught they would have to replace the TV ?
Many thanks

The options are refund, replace or repair.

If the choice is to refund then obviously they will only refund the amount you paid but if they are replacing it and still sell the same model TV then you should not be out of pocket in that replacement - that is the law as per the Sale of Goods Act.

Interesting point this - if the TV had dropped in price, would they replace it and give you the difference in cash? please ask them, I'd love to know their answer :D
