As we all hurrah that petrol prices are on the slide... Michael Meacher, the harbinger of doom that he is, puts a quite different take on things...

Michael Meacher: A plunging oil price means cheaper petrol now ? and no fuel later | Comment is free | guardian.co.uk

Just thought I'd cheer everyone's day up with this post... :-(

The Grauniad is usually first for stories like this and occasionally spells them correctly too. However I can't help feeling it is rather a gloomy outlook. Meacher is implying what could happen... It doesn't necessarily say that it is.

Is it just me that seems to think that whenever the consumer gets a little good news, we can always find one expert to drag out, to wag a finger at us and state "Well, you think that's good now think again... because of this if XY and Z happens then you'll be even worse off in the future! Ha! And don't say I didn't warn you!"
