Scrap metal prices

Following suit during the credit crunch I took my car to the local scrap metal merchant. It had run out of MOT and tax but was a good runner but no-one wanted to buy it.
In the end I thought I would get at least £50 for it for scrap- I got £30!!!:eek:
Eeek- if you can save your scrap until the market recovers.

Yes, we used to get around £300 a skip but it's dropped to about £50, won't be long before they're charging us to take it away!!

One good thing tho' perhaps the idiots won't think it's worth taking drain covers and road signs any more
