My girlfriend bought a second hand Vauxhall Tigra from a used car dealership in January. It came with two months warranty and has to be fair to say had a few issues.
Basically the engine has been overheating this last couple of weeks so I checked the engine coolant and it was bone dry, so topped it up. The engine started smoking today and the car died, turns out the head gasket has gone.
To top it off the recovery driver turned up and said the front tyres were bald, when explained how long a go the car was bought he said it should never have been sold to her her in that condition and that the dealership had contravened laws.
Is this correct and where do we stand in regards to challenging the dealer on the issue?
