I am after some advise. I recently was looking at purchasing a car from a dealer online (ebay) and saw a 2003 Golf tdi that i liked, which was priced at £3000. I rang up enquiring and he described the car to me over the phone, and it sounded great. I told him i am awaiting my car to be sold, and then i left a deposit over the phone by giving him my card details (£200) This is the single most stupid thing i have ever done..
However a few days later the person who was supposed to be buying my car pulled out and i was no longer in a position to continue with the purchase of the Golf.
I rang and explained it to the guy, he then basically told me i have lost my deposit. But i did not sign any agreement or receive any kind of reciept or anything?
Am i entitled to my deposit back? If so how do i go about it?
