For those who are going out for a Valentine's meal tonight, thought this article might be useful. It lists the most common ways restaurants have of ripping you off and suggests how to avoid them. Not exactly romantic, but practical!

We stayed in and got ripped off with a shoddy takeaway! Half the stuff was missing and that which did arrive was wrong! Wish we'd gone out now. Oh well!
cant beat a takeaway mate!!

Good curry, brilliant!

However - in the instance you've described, im inclined to agree that you should of gone out :-D

It might be useful for a piece on here that explains what things like "supplements" are and gives a guideline to issues like tipping. I have had a quick look and there doesnt appear to be that much. As a matter of interest, how much does everyone tip, and do you do it for all meals or just when you are really really happy with the service?
