E-victims.org: Hotmail accounts compromised

E-Victims.Org has seen a sustained phishing attack on hotmail and live.com email users for months. "We have had numerous people contact us regarding "hacked" accounts. When what has really happened is that the user clicked on a link in a phishing email and entered their login details into a spoof website" says Jennifer Perry Managing Director of E-Victims.Org.

This phishing activity has been going on for months. I'm sure Microsoft has been aware of it because so many users would have reported their compromised account. What has now happened is the information that the criminals gathered, has appeared on the Internet.

"I'm sure Microsoft could have anticipated this. Criminals gather information to sell on to other criminals" explains Perry.

E-Victims.Org advises hotmail and live.com users to change their passwords. They should also change any accounts that share that same email and password. Criminals will try using that email and passwords on other accounts including social...
