I purchased a vehicle from a local garage, asked for a few minor problems to be fixed and for it to be serviced. I had found out that the service was not done and less than 24 hours after collecting the car was left stranded in the dark, in appalling weather conditions at the side of a a busy dual carriageway, with a car thats engine has blown up. Can anybody help with what my rights are?? the car has been recovered at our expense back to the garage, it does have 3 months warranty, but I do not want the car back, can I claim a refund??

Hi,

Yes, you probably could try to 'reject' the car and get a full refund a you have had it such a short period of time. This is not easy though. It would be easier to let them repair it for you and to pay for any out of pocket expenses. If not having the car causes significant inconvenience you can claim a loan car, but you have to make the case for it.
