Hi,

I have a faulty Samsung DVDHDD which I purchased from PC World for £180 in May 2008. As it was over a year old when it died, I accept that I will have to pay for the repair myself but the repair company were having a problem getting hold of the replacement part that was required. On speaking with Samsung myself I was told it was technically available but it could not be readily sourced and therefore they could not say when, if at all, my DVD could be repaired.

I took this matter up with PC World as I believe the manufacturer has few, if any, obligations to the customer and after several emails backwards and forwards, PC World have decided this is nothing to do with them.

Please let me know if I have any rights in this matter. It seems ridiculous to me that I can pay £180 for a product which, less than 18 months later, is totally useless as it cannot be repaired :(.

Many thanks :).
