Hello,

I bought second hand washing machine with the dryer from the shop. When their technicians delivered washing machine it wasn't working and error light was flashing. They've been playing with it about 20 minutes and then started to work. They said, that a water pump was dirty.
When I tried to use it, problems appeared. After washing, when it should go to "rinse" program, washing machine stops working and error light flashes 6 times. The same problem is with spinning. I need switch off the machine, manually choose "rinse" and then switch washing machine back on.
I spoke to the shop and asked for money back, as it was faulty when bought. They refused and sent a technician to repair it. The technician was able to replicate the fault and he changed "program unit". I wrote it down, and he signed it (FAULT REPLICATED, PROGRAM UNIT CHANGED). He also offered us different washing machine, which was looking much worse and max spins were 1000RPM (mine has 1200RPMs).
When I was using washing machine again, I realized, that the problem is still present. I rang up the shop and the seller told me, that technician said, that washing machine is OK (now I'm not sure if he really changed that program unit). I told them, that error light on washing machine flashes and washing machine is simply not doing, what is should do.
I asked for money back again and the seller said, he is willing to give me 100GBP back, just in case, that I'll buy new machine from him. That's pretty stupid, as he can be selling faulty goods and then give just only one option: Refund 100GBP (instead of 154GBP) and just in case, that you buy new washing machine from him.
I'm going to write a letter (as advised by Trading standards, or something like that).

I'm just not sure what to put on the end, what will I do, if he will not refund me money.
I'm not sure, if to claim money on the issue a claim against you in the county court is the best solution. On one side I don't want to have even more troubles, on another side, I don't want him to cheat with me. Somebody must be interested, what is this seller doing.

Washing machine has 3 months warranty, I have all calls recorded. They say, that they will not refund my money.

What to do? What should I put into that letter?
What would you do? If you need more details, please ask.

Many thanks, guys

OK, I'm back.

Costumer Direct on behalf of Trading standarts told me F OFF,
Citizen advice told me F OFF.

Thank you, never again. Just wasting of money. Dead useless offices.
They understand, but cannot be asked to do anything.

Fyou all.

Hi,

You have to give them reasonable opportunity to fix it before you can ask for a refund (2 or 3 times) and refund can be partial as they are allowed to deduct an amount for usage.

Hi Tony,

I gave them a chance to fix the washing machine. They really sent a "technician" to fix it. Technician said, that program unit was faulty and he replaced it. Strange, because when he came, he said, that he doesn't have program unit for this model.
The problem was there after repair. I contacted the seller again and told him what is going on. The seller with very poor Englih kept saying "No no, my friend, my technician said, that washing machine is OK, you should be happy. I paid him 20GBP for going there". After that he refused to repair washing machine even it was in warranty.
I mean... It was more than obvious, that he lies to me. If his technician would really change that program unit, it wouldn't cost 20 pounds.

I have followed all instructions from citizen advise AND Trading standards. I gave the seller all possible opportunities to solve the problem.

Regarding Trading standards and citizen advice... Don't even bother to contact them. All they advised me was to send him a letter and wait 2 weeks. Then another letter and wait another 2 weeks. After that put in on the court.

I cannot explain here everything and I don't want to. I was a night mare and I want to forget now.

And they were lying to me all the time on different occasions.

At the moment, the marketplace plays a big role in our lives. For the past three months, I've been wanting to create my own app for various services. I found one marketplace payment solutions company to order with the help of my best friend, and I managed to create my own application that I want. Therefore, I can tell you that you have the opportunity to use this source and try to contact IT specialists. I hope this information will help you.
