I'm not sure if anyone can help me with the expected life span of a laptops hard drives. I have a HP Pavilion g series and the hard drive has packed up after 18 months, unfortunatly I do not have an extended warrenty on it and I am wondering if I would have a claim under the sale of goods act for durability?
Any comments would be appreciated.
Thanks

Debtors retreat
3-5 years is the general expected lifespan but you would only get a partial refund for the use you have had from it or a repair/replacement., and that decision would e up to the retailer. I will warn you however that they won't recover the data before they try formatting it in the hope that will cure the problem. If it has data you need on it, best trying to get it recovered first.
