Late energy payment - hit on credit rating?

Hi all,

Massive misunderstanding in our house, but my husband thought he paid our final electricity bill but - it turns out - he hadn't! We got the final notice (i.e. the one before they hand over details to a debt collection agency) at which point we paid straight away.

My question is whether or not that may have affected our credit rating?
