Bought a 5 seater settee,1 arm chair from SCS Store. We paid over $3,000.for it. Firstly the leather trim on arms cracked, reported February 2020.technician came to view, They agreed this should never happened. said they would replace just 3 of the arms. In August the repair man came to refit .When he opened the parcel it was a whole cover for a chair!! said he would re-order when he got back. several weeks later we received an email to say the arms are now on order, couple of weeks later we receive another email to say, the items have now been ordered and would take a further 3 weeks to get a delivery. We also reported patches of leather was peeling, also seats sinking. there are only me and my husband living here ,neither overweight, also look after our goods as we can't keep replacing. Told us to send photographs, which we did. .Told to send photographs again .We requested they send someone out. which eventually they did. They have told us they are not going to do anything but never addressed our concerns 1) why was the leather peeling ? 2) why were the seats sinking etc, etc. We are going to take this further ,When you read about furniture complaints they are all the same. The retailors are getting away with using inferior leather. We have always had leather furniture and NEVER had any problems, We have bought new ones because we wanted a change. But still in great condition. Incidentally, we changed seats Like they advised but seats still sank, cleaned with leather clean from their store. How much more care could we take. AH ! Perhaps we are not meant to sit onthem !!!!

Not all leather is the same and some leather is bonded onto plastic...

Bonded leather is called ‘leather’ because it incorporates scraps of leather remnants, which comprise between 10-20% of its content. The scraps of leather are made into a pulp and stuck to a fibre or paper backer which is then coated with polyurethane and embossed to give it the appearance of genuine leather.

It can still be sold as leather!
