An elderly relative signed up to have a garage door fitted by Weatherseal. The door has been fitted (badly in her opinion - it leaks) and she is now looking at a bill for just less than £5000.00. Does anyone know if this is the 'going rate' for a basic garage door. As far as I know Weatherseal are a reputable company so I can't believe they would have taken advantage. Please comment

Often these companies use subcontract fitters so it could be that she's just had a problem with fitting rather than the door, has she paid the bill? if not I would say she is in a good position for negotiation although she cannot refuse to pay it, she should ask them to come out and inspect the work.

I'm sure you could get some sample prices from websites.
