Hello its a bit of a long story but I'm looking for some advice on where I stand. I recently purchased a new car 4 weeks ago but noticed a problem before I purchased the car which the dealer said not to worry about he'll sort it out when ever I wanted.

So after a week the steering noise squeal was getting annoying so I gave him a bell also I had noticed another problem which was to do with the obc system with this bmw. I didn't notice at first as he posted me the owners book 1 week later. There are no dipsticks with these cars its all operated by a computer system which you flick through using the stick opposite to the wipers, this menu also flicks through other options in the menu, Anyway this seems to be playing up and not functioning properly.

I mention this also to him and he says I'll take a look, after dropping the car off he loans me a courtersy car ( an old banger that barely starts ) a few days later he phones and says yes the steerings done and also the obc is working after putting some grease in it, we arrange for me to pick it up the next day. I put £10 petrol in the loan car and get within 25 miles off destination then get a phone call. Apparently he checked the obc again in the morning and its not functioning correctly again.

So I end up turning back with him saying its now going to BMW after waiting a week a new part has arrived and been fitted I also find out its not at BMW its at a BMW specialist. Again the next day he phones and says nope its still not working now he needs another new part and it could be another 10 days. After an exchange of words I asked for a refund and he said I'd have to go through court to get one? The way I see it he's sold a faulty motor because without the obc functioning correctly it's like only 80% of the car works.

To be honest I'm getting fed up of he's calls as it always seems to be an excuse or possible lie and I'm wondering how long do I let this go on for? I've payed £4200 pound and don't have my car. Its 2weeks since I've seen it.

Where do I stand I payed £2800 on card and £1500 px am I entitled to a refund as the car is faulty?
