Hi my 37inch LCD tv just broke 1 month after the 12 month warranty of course this is sods law as i didnt take out extended warranty with currys as its too expensive do i have a leg to stand on with this??????
after reading the forum on this it looks like i need to get an engineers report, i have already spoken to an engineer who said this was an inherrent problem with this TV but after searching the web i cant find anything about it, is the engineers word final and do currys have to take his word or can they ignore him and say unlucky to me?
Contact Matsui, they just might replace it as a gesture of good will.
Currys will want more than a verbal statement - they will need a letter from a credible engineer. Retailers often ask for the person to be VAT registered - not sure why that matters.
I wouldn't do this till they ask for it though. At this stage just ask them to fix it and mention the Sale of Goods Act.
