Hi

Ten days ago I purchased a BMW from a Jaguar Dealer.

Within 30 secs of driving the car away, the puncture warning signal appeared.

The tyres are apparantly fine and in the past 10 days the warning system has been reset 3 times.

A BMW dealer has had the car today and has informed both myself and the Jaguar dealer that a full system reinstall is required that will take up to half a day.

Who is liable for this fee - myself or the Jaguar dealer who supplied me the car?

I believe it is them and am refusing to pay the fee - according to the BMW dealer, it had to have been a problem before they took it in as part ex.

Does it affect the roadworthiness of the car - I think the general rule is is the car fit for purpose, if not then it is not your fault. If you only got it ten days ago can you threaten to give it back?
