Camera insurance - can it be cancelled

Today I was going to buy a camera for 199.00 pounds with free bag from Jessops. plus extra for insurance. (Ive had misfortunes with cameras! ) insurance was suggested for 4.00-5.00 pounds - well that's what I heard (I'm semi hearing). and there was a SD card approx. 20.00 pounds. I expected a bill of 225 and was quoted 260.00.
I couldn't complete as I'd left my credit card behind.
I'm now wondering if the insurance is 45.00. If I take it and after reading the info (!) don't like the terms. Can I a cancel it , b how many days do I have (I will be in France Monday - Friday.)

Our home insurance isn't viable to claim on minor items due to loss of bonuses.

The insurance was 45.00.I took it and was told it covers virtually everything. I bought the package , Haven't read the info as yet .If insurance isn't what its cracked up to be can I cancel and if so how many days do I have to do this.
