I wanted to register my thanks for the very helpful information I found on the thread on PS3s and SOGA over in the consumer information part of your site (I couldn't post a link as this is my first post).
I had the YLOD on my launch 60GB PS3, which I had for over 3 years, and using the information on your site I managed to get a brand new replacement from HMV. They were actually really good about it, and didn't try to make it difficult at all. If anyone else purchased their PS3 from HMV and is wondering if it's worth claiming, I'd say it definitely is.
