Hi there first post here is where we are! Bought car back in January from an independent car dealer and have had nothing but problems with it. So far we have had the following:
Back caliper needed replacing on day picked up
Problems starting and stalling when cold - needed glow plugs replaced, mass air flow meter replaced, injectors stripped out checked one replaced
Boot switch faulty and replaced
Driveshaft replaced
The car was still having starting problems, blue smoke when starting from cold but just accepted it as was having no problem running. Had a small diesel leak so took it to the local dealership who fixed the problem and did a software upgrade which fixed the starting problem (i paid for this myself). However they also found swarf (small bits of metal) in the air filter. The car is back in garage having this looked at but may need a new high pressure pump and a system flush. Puegeot recommend a full parts change - price for parts alone £2500! This work is being done by a diesel specialist so have no worries about the quality of the work.
All the work has been paid for either through the warranty or by the dealer, however I have now lost confidence in the car due to the number of times it has been in the garage. I am within my rights to "reject" the car on grounds of not fit for purpose or any other grounds and if so how do I go about doing it? Car is an 2001 plate with 35k on the clock paid £3500
