Hello,

Appreciate any advice on how to deal with a house clearance potentially going wrong.

Recently needed to clear a house due to breavement. We were introduced by a reputable tradesman to a house clearance 'specialist'.

The individual concerned entered into an arrangement whereby the would clear the house, sell thecontents, and pay a sum back to the family from the sale of goods.

Unfortunately they took 4 times longer than promised, caused damage to the house, andnow are singularly failing to pay up.

What can we do to recover the sum promised?

Thanks in advance.

have you got a signed contract with this person?
something that says they will take responsibility for any damaged caused?
now with the money if they do not pay up then it is classed as stealing so i would seek legal advice, make them aware that you are going to do so and see if they pay up before but if not go down this route.
sorry someones been such an arsehole and taken advantage of your situation.
