Not sure of my rights, bought a laptop at Xmas and my husband knocked it on the floor damaging the screen, took it back to pc world and they sent it to be repaired, I did not take out accidental damage cover and was prepared to pay for a new screen. They took a £50 deposit and sent it off. They are now returning it saying they do not have the parts and I should try elsewhere. Is that all they are obliged to do? Surely if the laptop is only 4 months old they should be able to source the spare parts. It is a Samsung notebook 300E5A-A01

They are not under any obligation to repair accidental damage, it could be that you'll have to go directly to Samsung, buy the screen and then have it fitted locally (by someone you trust).

Is it not covered on your home insurance?
