Hi guys,

Last week I traded in an XBOX 360 console to game. The console was 14 months old and had worked perfectly for me. When I traded it in the guy at game plugged it in and placed a disc inside to make sure this was the case.

Today I recieved a phone call from the store informing me that the console had been sold and returned with the disc drive broken(not reading discs). They seem to be under the impression that I am liable for this and I am bound to now return the items I gained from the trade in and take the broken console back, even though it was not broken when iy was traded in.

Am I liable?

No, if they tested it when you took it in and it worked then they bought it off you, it is their responsibility. For all they know the buyer may have dropped it on the way home, why should you be responsible for that?
