Hello,
A week and a half ago, I was browsing for phones on the website when a button putted up allowing me to chat to a "phone specialist" online. I thought I'd give it a go to talk about different phones and ended up ordering a new one - this was perfect for me as I'd injured myself the week before, meaning I didn't need to go to the shop to get this. The whole thing was painless, I could order online and the phone was soon with me.
However, the phone was faulty and won't make or receive calls. Phones 4 U told me to phone up and resolve this. I said I had no landline and my phone's not working. They told me to go to a shop to speak about this. I said I was (and still am) confined to the house through injury. They told me to go to a landline and phone. And this kept going on. They've been trying to phone me but my calls don't work. Today, I got an e-mail saying they trust my case has been resolved when really I'm more furious than ever about the whole thing. Even though I'm still stuck in the house with a phone that won't work.
Basically, this company will make the process of handing money over to them and agreeing to a 24 month contract VERY easy but when it comes to helping you, you either have to spend money making calls or get yourself out to a shop. This isn't the first trouble I've had either - last year with a broken phone they made the whole process as enduringly painful as possible but that's another tale for another time.
I'd strongly advice dealing directly with phone networks - they're beginning to offer early upgrades in light of Phones 4 U's tactic and any time I've had a problem with a phone when dealing directly with the network, they've sent a phone out the next day if it's been a factory fault or do all they can to help. Phones 4 U will just sit back, count their money and make you jump through hoops in order to get what you should be entitled to as a customer by law.
As I'm new, I can't post links on here but a quick Google will show you how many complaints there are about the customer service as well as the companys background in mis-selling.
