Problem with BT

Hi group, I wonder if anyone can offer a bit of advice?

I received a bill from BT in January this year which was overcharged but owing to bereavement have been unable to ask for a refund until now (October).

I obviously don't blame BT for a bereavement but they are telling me that there is a 3 month time limit to action refunds and have refused to do so.

I would have thought that like any other debt the statute is 6 years. Is this correct or wrong?

Thanks for any help

Hi and welcome, sorry to hear about your bereavement.

You are quite correct, as much as BT would like to think they are big enough to amend the law to suit themelves, they re not, send them a Letter Before Action giving them a week to apply the refund or you will take them to the Small Claims Court.

BT are one huge disaster they should probably refund the money of half of their customers. Especially in the case of providing internet.
