Savings options

I am currently looking at savings options. I remember hearing about a savings account (years ago) whereby the account was divided in sections, or pots, for example a holiday pot, a household pot, a new car pot, a general savings pot. Does anybody know what I'm talking about?

I think you're thinking of the Woolwich OpenPlan savings account that was attached to their current account. Now taken over by Barclays and seems to have gone.

Why not just have more than one savings account, but find one(s) that pay a good rate rather than limiting yourself to this particularly function?
